William O'Connor
Site Evaluator, CAD Draftsperson, Engineering Field Technician, GPS Technician
Bill began his career at AFA as a seasonally-employed CAD operator in the summer of 1999 and quickly realized that Site Evaluation was a career that seemed tailor-made to his love of the Maine woods and growing interest in land use regulations. He earned full-time employment in the fall of 1999, and his horizons broadened when he was able to take on additional duties as an Engineering Field Technician and backhoe operator. In the summer of 2000, Bill was one of the first employees at AFA to utilize the capabilities of GPS for wetland and soil test pit location. The peace and solitude that GPS location work in the woods provides are two of the things that Bill enjoys best about his job. Autumn of 2003 brought Bill his State licensure as a Site Evaluator. Bill views his overall career arc, to this point, with great satisfaction. He enjoys a variety of responsibilities at AFA and embraces the many challenges each work day presents.
